We specialise in criminal law including road traffic offences, sex offences and drugs charges.

Please contact us to discuss your case.

My name is Duncan Henderson. My firm specialises in criminal defence work (including road traffic cases). My office manager is Mrs Sarah Henderson,BSc, a qualified grade 1 paralegal. I hope you will find this website helpful. Experience shows that clients have found this a useful way of making contact with me resulting in their cases being successfully defended in Court.

I undertake all aspects of criminal law including road traffic, sex offences, dishonesty, assault, drugs etc. The work covers everything from initial police interview, up to High Court cases. When required I also undertake criminal appeals.

I appear in Inverness Sheriff and Inverness Justice of the Peace Courts. This covers Inverness, Ardeseir, Nairn, Strathspey and Beauly areas. It also covers the A9 and A96 roads. I have had to concentrate on these two Courts due to pressure of business.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Perhaps the best recommendations come from my clients. The follwing have kindly been sent to me by clients after their cases were concluded. I am grateful for the time they have taken to send in their thoughts.

On 31st December 09 one client wrote "I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your work on this case. It is clearly apparent that you have spent considerable time and attention working with me to gather the right information, collating this and subsequently presenting it in a way that is understandable and acceptable to the court. You have managed to reach what I consider to be a very positive outcome in relation to my charge, in fact it is fair to say that I believe you have managed to reach probably the best possible outcome there could have been. This whole process has been extremely unfamiliar to me and since my initial contact with you I have found you patient and extremely responsive to all my numerous questions and queries. Your calm manner and clear explanations have really helped me understand the process every step of the way, and helped me to remain calm through what has been a distressing and unnerving few months. I genuinely hope I never need legal representation again, however if I do ever have a need I would most definitely come to you first. I would positively recommend your services to anyone requiring legal representation, without any hesitation."

Another client wrote in February 2010 saying "Please allow me to take this oppertunity to show my absolute gratitude and thanks for all your time, work and advice in dealing with my court appearences over the last few months.
I have to say that the last few months have been the longest months of my life as I was convinced I was going to spend time in custody. The whole thing feels like a sentence in itself and I certainly have learnt my lesson. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome and to be honest I have a new found respect for the law and intend to stay on the correct side of it for the rest of my life."

In June 10 I received an email from a client some of which read "I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your help with my court case today. I thought that you fought my case very strongly and bravely against the sheriff and feel that without you the outcome would have been far less positive.

Court was a terrifying prospect, and was quite different from what I thought it was going to be like. I wasn’t expecting the court room to be so small and it to be so busy. In hindsight I can see that in each given day there are so many cases to get through, that it is very important that what is said in the defence of each accused person has to be very clear, concise and relevant. I do not think the sheriff would have taken too kindly to my long winded version of events and excuses and thought that you put my case exceptionally well.

What was also evident today was that you represent a wide variety of people, with very different backgrounds and alleged offences. I really admire you for the job that you do, and the effort that you put in to your cases.

When I received my letter and phoned you up, I was quite apprehensive about talking to you. I had looked at your website and was aware that you were very highly qualified and experienced and thought that you would look at me and think -what an idiot- she has no idea about courts, and is babbling on with lots of irrelevant information. It was your wife I spoke to initially, and she was very easy to talk to and explained that you would be in touch soon. After talking to your wife, and later you I immediately felt much better. I have never had a lawyer before but feel that since making contact with you I could not have asked for a more efficient and excellent service. I was grateful to you for taking time to explain things, and was much better prepared for today because of your information and advice. After receiving my letter from the court I felt I had no control over anything that was happening, and by letting me know the possible outcomes, explaining the system and telling me what you required from me, in a way it felt like you gave me a bit of control back."

I understand that Court can be difficult and stressful for clients. While I cannot guarantee the outcome of a case I would like to be able to gude you through the Court process and to assist you if you need an experienced criminal solicitor in Inverness.
